Southern Village HOA

Help us give English speaking students the chance to live with an American Family!  We have many students who are in need of families to make their dream of living abroad come true.

• The students come with their own spending money, health and liability insurance
• Host families simply provide room, 2-3 meals a day and a loving home
• Students available from all over the world

Orange County now collects plastics that are not bottles #2 and #5 to be recycled at Drop-Off locations at  University Mall, Meadowmont, Carrboro Plaza, Cedar Falls Park and Hampton Pointe.

Also, over a four-day period during Earth Day weekend, Thursday, April 22, 2010 through Sunday, April 25, 2010, Phase 1 of the N.C. EnergyStar Appliance Replacement and Rebate Program offers 15% rebates on EnergyStar rated appliances in addition to any store, manufacturer or other discounts being offered.

If you are interested in speed tables on your street see the attached documents from the Town of Chapel Hill.  In the past it was discussed with Kumar from Public Works that Southern Village streets should be looked at on the whole – not on a one-on-one basis – as a speed table on one street will only drive cars to adjacent streets without speed tables.  However, since they are putting in a speed table on Westside Drive, it is apparent Kumar is now able to look at speed tables individually.  If you would like a speed table on your street here’s what to do:
 
1. Fill out a request form for traffic calming (see below attachment)
2. The town will send you a petition for your street to sign (if you don’t get it in a week you will have to follow up)
