The first meeting of the new Southern Village Social Media Committee is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23rd @ 7pm at 102 Newell Street.  This meeting is open to the public.

The Town of Chapel Hill is conducting a Town-wide energy efficiency program for homeowners called WISE Homes & Building Program.  The Town will provide subsidies that will lower the cost of eligible home improvements by 25-50%.  These subsidies are designed to incent “deep” energy efficiency improvements, meaning 15% or greater energy savings per home.  For more visit the Town’s WISE program website at http://www.townofchapelhill.org/index.aspx?page=1666.

Mark your calendar.  The Going Green Committee is planning an energy conservations clinic and a composting clinic on the Green at the first Farmers Market this season on May 5th.  Stay tuned for more.

Minutes from the SVHOA Annual Meeting are now available.

Mary Jo Coppola, a new board member is acting as the chair for a recently formed Social Media Committee.  The goal is to improve communication within community using Facebook and an enhanced website.  In addition, residents have expressed interest that groups or clubs be formed to bring like minded residents together who share similar interests. For example, a book club, gourmet club, wine tasting, runners, barter & trade of goods, list of services available such as babysitting, a welcome committee, etc.  Please contact Mary Jo at maryjoryan1@gmail.com if you would like to be involved and attend our first meeting.
